Lightning and Ozone Production

These MOZART visualizations were used to view the relationships between lightning emissions, NOx, and Tropospheric Ozone.  Lightning emissions produce NOx which is used in the production of Ozone. One of the questions the researchers are attempting to determine is just how much lightning emissions effect the amount of Ozone produced.

QuickTime | Real | MPEG

The green isosurface is Ozone at 40 ppb. The blue isosurface is NOx at 500 ppt. Lightning emissions are depicted as white.
