NETCDF METADATA EXTRACTION

Prototype application for the extraction of XML-encoded metadata from geophysical data files. Currently works only for input files of netcdf format, and output metadata conforming to the generic netcdf schema (http://www.ucar.edu/schemas/netcdf).
