The Vislab supports an h.323 video conferencing system from Polycom, which provides more opportunities for remote communication with our collaborators at other UCAR campuses and institutions both here and abroad. The installation is an HDX 9000 system that includes a Polycom EagleEye high definition camera with 12x optical zoom, 72-degree viewing angle, and panning radius of 180 degrees. The system supports multipoint video conferences allowing multiple sites to share both video and data concurrently. This system complements the Vislab’s Access Grid video conferencing system and provides additional connectivity to important partners, like the University of Wyoming, and the NSF.
If you have users that do not have access to a Polycom system they can still join the meeting by calling in or by using third party software. Please visit our h.323 software options page for more information.
